Do not grow weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap
a harvest if we do not give up.
Galations 6:9

Dress Code and Code of Conduct

Handbook | School Policies | Fee Schedule | Records | Legal | Grading | Roster

While it is not the intention of HCA to dictate parental decisions concerning appearance and behavior, we do desire to maintain a standard which reflects the following Biblical principles:

I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies
a living sacrifice,
holy,
acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world,
but transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is good and
acceptable and the perfect
will of God
~Romans 12:1-2~

As homeshcoolers, our appearance and behavior has a tremendous impact on public opinion. When we strive to present ourselves as God has commanded, we can expect a favorable impact in our families, communities, and country.

More importantly, as Christians, we must never forget that we are ambassadors for Jesus Christ and must reflect Him in all we do and say.

The following guidelines are given to provide clarity in that endeavor:

1. Demonstrate respect for authority in all situations.
1 Peter 2:13-17; Romans 13:1

2. Have an attitude of compassion for the differences, needs or disabilities of others.
Mathew 7:12; James 2:1-9; Galatians 5:22-23

3. Act and speak at all times in a christian manner.
Ephesians 5:1a,4

4. Modesty in all attire is expected. The school administrator or event coordinator is the final determiner of appropriate dress.
Timothy 2:9-10

5. Always remember to respect people and property.
I Corinthians 10:24

6. Wholesome friendships are encouraged between young men and women. Students should look upon one another as brothers and sisters in Christ and refrain from physical demonstrations.
2 Timothy 2:22
